Prepare Farmland Early

Once you have a safe platform, dedicate a small section to farming. You need just a few blocks of dirt and water to start growing crops. Dig down slightly to create a sunken farm area that won't take up your precious platform space.

Start with Accessible Crops

Wheat is your easiest first crop—you can find seeds by breaking tall grass. Plant seeds in tilled soil with water nearby. Potatoes and carrots drop from zombies and can be planted once you have a few.

Manage Your Water Carefully

Water is essential for farming but takes up space. Use a single water block and let it hydrate nearby soil in a square pattern. This is more efficient than creating long water channels.

Diversify Your Food Sources

Don't rely only on crops. Keep animals in a small pen if possible, or maintain a fishing rod for an alternative protein source. Multiple food types give you backup if one source fails, which is critical when space is limited.
