Build an Efficient Base Layout

Start with a Central Platform

Your first major project should be a raised platform in the middle of your chunk. This gives you safe walking space and prevents items from rolling off edges. Make it at least 8×8 blocks to have room for essential structures.

Arrange Stations Strategically

Place your crafting table, furnace, and chests in a compact cluster. This minimizes walking distance and keeps everything visible at once. Leave space around each station so you can access them without jumping or falling.

Plan Vertical Space

Since horizontal space is extremely limited, build upward. Stack your storage chests, create an upper level for farming, or build a second platform above your main base. Vertical expansion is your best way to gain functional space.

Leave Room for Growth

Don't fill your entire chunk immediately. Keep some open space for future needs like a bed area, furnace room, or food farm. You'll discover what you need as you progress, and flexibility keeps you from getting stuck.
