Finding the Nearby Wood Island

Your starting dirt block is surrounded by floating islands within short distance. Look around carefully—you'll spot an island with trees on it. Build a dirt bridge or pillar from your block toward the tree island, or use blocks you've broken from your dirt block to create a path.

Harvesting and Crafting

Once you reach the wood island, punch or use any tool to break wood blocks from the trees. Collect at least 10–12 wood blocks to give yourself room to work.

Return to your dirt block and open your crafting menu. Convert your wood into planks, then craft planks into sticks and a crafting table. Place the crafting table on your dirt block.

Making Basic Tools

With your crafting table, make wooden tools first (pickaxe, axe, shovel). These let you harvest stone and other materials more efficiently. Wooden tools are fragile, so prioritize finding stone or better materials by exploring nearby islands.

Keep some wood in your inventory—you'll need it for furnaces and further crafting as you progress.
