Oneblock of Dirt Map FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
What do I do first when I spawn?
Break the dirt block beneath you to collect dirt, then look around for nearby floating islands. Your first goal is to reach an island with trees so you can chop wood and craft basic tools.
Does the dirt block respawn if I break it?
Yes, the dirt block respawns infinitely every time you break it. This is your unlimited resource for dirt and grass blocks throughout the map.
How do I get my first wood?
Look for a tree on one of the nearby floating islands and chop it down with your hands or a tool. Once you have wood, craft a crafting table and wooden tools to progress faster.
Where do I find stone?
You'll need to build a stone generator by visiting different islands to gather the necessary materials and learn the recipe. Check the guide on building a stone generator for detailed steps.
How do I make a Nether portal?
You need obsidian blocks, which are hidden on the floating islands—search carefully or trade with villagers to find them. Once you have enough obsidian, arrange it in the portal frame shape and light it with flint and steel.
What should I trade with villagers for?
Villagers offer rare items that are hard to find on the islands, like enchanted books, ender pearls, and other progression items. Focus on trades that help you reach the Nether and The End.
Can I fall off the map and die?
Yes, falling into the void will kill you. Be careful when jumping between islands, and consider building bridges or using blocks to create safe paths.
Do I need to find diamonds or can I skip straight to the Nether?
You can progress to the Nether without diamonds by gathering obsidian from the islands and trading with villagers. However, diamonds may be useful for better tools and armor later.
Is there a way to get back to the starting block if I get lost?
The starting dirt block stays in place, so you can always navigate back to it by exploring the islands. Mark it or remember its location so you don't lose your spawn point.
What happens after I beat The End?
Defeating the Ender Dragon completes the map adventure. You can continue playing to gather more resources, build structures, or start over on a new world.
