Gather Essential Gear

Before entering an ancient city, you need combat equipment suited to fighting the warden. Bring a full set of diamond or netherite armor—the warden deals significant damage, and protection is critical. Pack a sword (diamond or netherite) and a bow with plenty of arrows as backup.

Stock Up on Supplies

Bring healing items: golden apples, regular apples, or healing potions. The warden's attacks are relentless, so you'll need multiple healing sources. Consider bringing blocks for building cover or escape routes, and torches for navigation in the dark ancient city.

Understand the Stakes

Remember that this ancient city has only one warden. Once you defeat it, that specific city is permanently safe for exploration. There's no respawn timer—take your time preparing rather than rushing in unprepared. If you die, you'll drop your items but the warden remains defeated.

Scout First

If possible, enter the city quietly to locate the warden's position before engaging. This lets you choose your battleground and plan your approach rather than being caught off-guard.
