One Chunk Default! 16 16 Map FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

Can I leave the 16x16 chunk or do I get trapped?
You are confined to the single 16×16 chunk—attempting to walk beyond its borders will prevent you from leaving. This is the core challenge of the map, so plan your base layout knowing you have no room to expand outward.
How deep can I mine before I hit Bedrock?
The chunk extends down to the normal Minecraft bedrock layer, giving you a full vertical mining space. This deep mining area is what replaces the empty sky you'd find in traditional Skyblock, so dig carefully to avoid wasting blocks.
What's the best way to organize my base so I don't run out of room?
Build vertically instead of horizontally—use multiple levels for farms, storage, and crafting areas to maximize your tiny footprint. Keep your main base compact and use the deep mining space below for resource gathering rather than storage.
Do trees and crops grow normally in this map?
Yes, trees and crops follow normal Minecraft growth mechanics, but you'll need to plan your farm layout very carefully since space is extremely limited. Consider building a vertical farm or stacking crop rows to fit everything you need.
Can I get all the resources I need without leaving the chunk?
Yes—the map is designed to pack all essential resources (wood, stone, ores, dirt, water) into the single chunk so you can survive and build indefinitely. You won't find every block type easily, but the core materials needed to progress are available.
What happens if I fall off the edge of the chunk?
Falling off the edge will kill you since there's nothing below the chunk boundary. Always be careful when mining or building near the edges, and consider building railings or barriers to prevent accidental falls.
How do I get water and lava in such a small space?
Water and lava spawn naturally in the chunk like they do in normal Minecraft—look for them while exploring and mining. Once you find a source block, you can bucket it and reuse it throughout your base.
Is this map harder than regular Skyblock?
It's a different challenge: you have more resources available because you can mine stone and ores, but you have much less building space to work with. The tight space forces you to be more strategic about every block you place.
Can I play this map in multiplayer or just single player?
The map works in both single player and multiplayer, though multiplayer will make resource management even tighter since you're sharing the same small space with other players. Coordinate your base layout and mining areas to avoid conflicts.
What should I prioritize building first?
Start with a small shelter and a crafting area, then immediately set up a food farm so you don't starve. After that, focus on mining tools and expanding your storage before you run out of inventory space.
