Troubleshoot LAN Connection Issues

Verify the Toggle State

If players can't connect to your LAN world, first check the OfflineLAN toggle setting:

1. Open Pause Menu → Open to LAN

2. Confirm the toggle is set to the correct mode for your players

3. If players have premium accounts, toggle should be ON

4. If players lack premium accounts, toggle should be OFF

Check Network Connection

Ensure all players are:

  • On the same local network (WiFi or Ethernet)
  • Not blocked by firewall restrictions
  • Using the correct server address shown in the LAN menu

Restart the LAN Session

If connection problems persist:

1. Close the LAN world (press Esc → Close to LAN)

2.

3. Reopen Open to LAN and verify the toggle setting

4. Start a new LAN world

5. Have players refresh their multiplayer server list

Account Authentication

If a specific player can't join, verify they meet the authentication requirements of your current toggle setting. Mismatched account types (premium vs. non-premium) and toggle state is the most common cause of connection failures.
