How to Give Items or XP to a Player Who Is Offline
Why this works
Normally /give and /experience fail with "player not found" when the target is disconnected. Offline Commands Mod hooks into those vanilla commands so they resolve the player's stored profile instead of requiring a live connection. The item or XP is written straight into the player's saved data and appears the next time they log in.
Step by step
1. Make sure you are opped or have permission level 2+ on the server.
2. Type the command exactly as you would for an online player, using their exact username (case-sensitive):
/give <player> <item> <count>/experience add <player> <amount> [points|levels]
3. If the name is ambiguous or the player has never joined, the command will still fail — the mod needs an existing player data file to target.
4. Confirm success by checking chat for the usual vanilla feedback message.
5. Have the player log in and verify their inventory or XP bar.
Common pitfalls
- Typos in the username are the number-one cause of failure; copy the name from your server's player list files if unsure.
- Very large counts may be clamped by vanilla stack limits, so split huge give commands into several calls.
- If another plugin also overrides
/give, load order can matter — test with a simple item first.
