Editing Offline Player Data, Tags, and Advancements
The powerful commands
/data, /tag, /advancement, /attribute, /recipe, and /item are the commands admins reach for when fixing corrupted or stuck players. With Offline Commands Mod they accept offline names, letting you repair a profile without waiting for the player to log in.
Typical repair workflow
1. Inspect first: /data get entity <player> prints the stored NBT so you can see what is wrong.
2. Modify a value: /data modify entity <player> <path> set value <value>. Use this to fix things like a stuck Pos, a bad Health, or a broken inventory slot.
3. Manage tags: /tag <player> add <name> or /tag <player> remove <name> — handy for scoreboard or datapack logic that keys off tags.
4. Grant or revoke advancements: /advancement grant <player> only <advancement> or /advancement revoke <player> only <advancement>.
5. Adjust attributes: /attribute <player> <attribute> set <value>.
Safety notes
- Always back up the player's
.datfile before running/data modify; a wrong path can wipe inventory or stats. - Paths are case-sensitive and must match the NBT tree exactly.
- Test destructive changes on a throwaway account first if you are unsure of the syntax.
