Keeping Block Fire Looking Normal While Using Low Fire

Why Block Fire Stays the Same

A common worry is that a low fire pack will also shrink the fire you see on the ground, in netherrack, or on burning wood. Oculies Low Fire is built to treat these as separate things. It only changes the fire overlay that appears on your own screen when your character burns. The fire that exists in the world as a block keeps its regular appearance, so builds, traps, and decorations are unaffected.

Checking Both at Once

To confirm this for yourself, place some fire on the ground with flint and steel, then step into it. You will see the normal, full-sized block fire in the world around you, while the overlay on your screen stays low. This is the intended behavior and means you do not need a second pack to restore block fire.

If Block Fire Looks Wrong

If ground fire also appears shrunken, you likely have another resource pack selected above Oculies Low Fire that edits the same texture. Open Options, then Resource Packs, and drag Oculies Low Fire to the top of the selected column. If the problem continues, disable other packs one at a time to find the one changing block fire, then reorder so the low fire pack wins for the body overlay.
