Oculies Low Fire Resource Pack FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I turn on the low fire effect after installing the pack?
Open Options, then Resource Packs, and move Oculies Low Fire from the left column to the right column. Make sure it sits above any other pack that also changes fire textures, then click Done.
Why is my fire still huge even though the pack is enabled?
Another resource pack loaded above it is probably overriding the fire texture. Drag Oculies Low Fire to the top of your selected packs list so nothing else replaces it.
Does this pack change fire on the ground or on wood?
No. It only shrinks the flames rendered on your own body in first person, so campfires, torches, and burning blocks keep their normal appearance.
Will this work on a server or in multiplayer?
Yes. It is a client-side resource pack, so it only affects what you see and does not need to be installed on the server or by other players.
Does the low fire pack work in third person view?
The change is aimed at the first-person fire overlay, so switching to third person may show the normal fire on your character model instead.
Can I use this with other resource packs like shaders or texture packs?
Yes, as long as Oculies Low Fire is placed above any pack that also edits the fire texture. Shader packs generally do not conflict since they change lighting rather than the fire overlay.
Will this pack hurt my FPS or performance?
No. It only swaps a small texture, so it has essentially no impact on performance compared to vanilla fire.
Does it work in the Nether or when standing in lava?
Yes. Any time your character is on fire, including from lava or blazes, the flames are pushed to the bottom of your screen so you can still see ahead.
Can I make the fire even smaller or turn it off completely?
The pack only provides the low-fire version, so you cannot adjust the size in-game. To remove the effect entirely, disable the pack in Resource Packs.
Does it change the fire animation or just the size?
It keeps the normal fire animation but renders it lower and smaller on your screen, so the flames still flicker the same way, just out of the way.
