Finding Sea Pickles

Sea Pickles grow on coral reefs in warm ocean biomes. They glow when placed and can be harvested by hand or with any tool — they drop as items. Collect a stack before you start cooking, because recipes usually consume more than one per dish.

Braising Them

Braised Sea Pickle is the cooked form. The process is:

1. Harvest raw Sea Pickles from a reef.

2. Combine them with your braising liquid or seasoning at the cooking station.

3. Cook the result — furnace, smoker, or the mod's pot depending on your version.

Using Them in Dishes

Sea Pickles also feed into the broader ocean-food chain. They pair well with kelp dishes and can be used as a garnish ingredient in salads. If a recipe calls for a "pickle" and you only have the raw item, braise it first.

Reef Safety

Coral reefs spawn Guardians nearby in some biomes, and Drowned patrol the water. Bring a shield, a trident, and Water Breathing. Harvest at night if you want the pickles to glow and mark your path back to the surface. Do not mine the coral itself — you only need the pickles, and coral dies if you break it without Silk Touch.
