How to Get Tentacles and Make Squid Rings
Getting the Drop
Squid are the source of this whole chain. Kill squid in any ocean or river biome and they drop Tentacles — the raw item, not the cut version. Bring a Looting sword if you have one, since more tentacles per squid means fewer dives. Squid are passive and flee when hit, so herd them into a corner or use a trident with Loyalty for a ranged opener.
Cutting and Cooking
Raw Tentacles are not meant to be eaten directly. You need to process them into Cut Tentacles first — this is a crafting or cutting step, so check the Processes section of the wiki for the exact station your version uses (a cutting board or similar). From there:
1. Cut Tentacles are the base ingredient for Squid Rings and Tentacle on a Stick.
2. Squid Rings are the fried snack version — cook them in a furnace, smoker, or campfire depending on the recipe.
3. Tentacle on a Stick is the portable version; once cooked it becomes Baked Tentacle on a Stick, which is the food item you actually want in your hotbar.
Why Bother
Baked Tentacle on a Stick is a solid travel food — it stacks, it does not need a bowl, and it frees your inventory from stew logistics. Farm a stack of squid early and you will not need to fish for a while.
