How to Farm Kelp and Make Honey Fried Kelp

Setting Up a Kelp Farm

Kelp grows on the ocean floor and can be planted on any dirt, sand, or gravel block underwater. Build a simple farm:

1. Dig a column of water at least a few blocks deep, walled in with glass or solid blocks.

2. Place a dirt or sand block at the bottom.

3. Plant a kelp starter on it.

4. Put a piston or a flowing-water collection system at the top so harvested kelp drops into a hopper.

Kelp grows on its own and can be broken at any height — the top piece is what you harvest, and the plant regrows. Bone meal speeds it up.

Turning It Into Honey Fried Kelp

Honey Fried Kelp needs kelp plus honey. Get honey from a bee nest or beehive using a Glass Bottle — do not use shears unless you want honeycomb instead. Then:

1. Harvest a batch of kelp.

2. Combine kelp and honey at your cooking station (furnace, smoker, or the mod's cooking pot — check Processes).

3. The result is Honey Fried Kelp, a food item that restores hunger and gives a small buff.

Why Farm It

Kelp is renewable, honey is renewable, and the dish is cheap. It is the best early-game food in this mod if you do not want to fight guardians. Build the farm once and you have infinite snacks.
