Lava casting is the core speedrunning technique in Obsidian Pulse Map. Instead of placing obsidian blocks individually, you pour lava into a prepared shape and let it solidify into your portal frame.

Practice Steps

1. Spawn and collect your starter bucket and water bucket from the training station

2. Locate the practice arena marked for lava casting

3. Pour lava carefully into the pre-marked obsidian frame outline—the map shows you exactly where it should flow

4. Use water to stop the lava spread before it reaches unwanted areas

Speed Tips

Watch your lava flow pattern—pour from the highest point and let gravity do the work. Position yourself so you can quickly switch between lava and water buckets. The training arena is designed to show you the optimal bucket placement positions. Repeat until you can complete a full frame without mistakes, then work on shaving seconds off your time.
