Why Lighting Matters

Lighting the portal is the final step, but a fumbled ignition wastes all your previous speed work. Obsidian Pulse Map lets you drill this repeatedly without penalty.

Execution Drill

1. Complete a full lava-cast portal frame in the practice arena

2. Grab your flint and steel from your inventory

3. Right-click the bottom-center obsidian block of the frame to ignite it

4. Watch the purple portal activate

5. Hit reset immediately and repeat

Consistency Training

The key is muscle memory—your hand should know exactly where to aim without thinking. Practice the same frame location dozens of times. Focus on:

• Approaching the frame from the same angle each run
• Positioning your crosshair on the ignition block before you click
• Clicking once and moving away (no double-clicking)

As you improve, time yourself from frame completion to full portal activation. The instant reset feature means you can chain 10+ attempts in quick succession, building the reflexes you need for real speedruns.
