Making Modded Milk Buckets Work With Nutritious Milk
What Counts as a Milk Bucket
This mod is built to recognize milk buckets from other mods, not just the vanilla one. If another mod adds its own milk item — for example a flavored milk, a milk variant from a farming mod, or a fluid-based milk bucket — it should receive the same hunger and saturation treatment as long as it is tagged or registered as milk.
If a Modded Milk Is Not Working
- Check whether the mod's milk item is actually registered under the vanilla milk tag or a compatible fluid tag. Mods that use a completely custom item ID without tagging may not be detected.
- Some mods add milk as a fluid rather than an item. Fluid-based milk in buckets usually works, but milk stored in tanks or pipes will not, because there is no drinking action.
- If a specific modded milk still behaves like vanilla, note which mod it comes from and check that mod's config — some mods override food values themselves.
Testing in Game
Drink the modded milk while your hunger bar is not full. If hunger and saturation both increase, the mod is detecting it correctly. If only negative effects are removed, the item is not being recognized as milk by this mod. In that case, the simplest workaround is to use a vanilla milk bucket for the nutrition benefit and keep the modded one for its own effects.
