How to Configure Nutritious Milk Hunger and Saturation Values
Finding the Config File
After launching Minecraft once with the mod installed, a config file is generated in your config folder inside your game directory. Look for a file named after the mod (something like nutritiousmilk-common.toml or similar). Open it with any plain text editor — Notepad, Notepad++, or VS Code all work fine.
Editing the Values
Inside you will find two entries:
hungerLevelIncrease— controls how many hunger points a milk bucket restores. Default is 10, and the accepted range is 0 to 20.saturationLevelIncrease— controls the saturation boost. Default is 10.0, range 0 to 20.0.
Change the numbers to whatever you want, save the file, and restart Minecraft. For reference, a steak restores 8 hunger and 12.8 saturation, so setting milk near those values makes it a serious food source rather than a niche utility item.
Practical Tips
- Setting hunger to 0 effectively disables the food feature while keeping the vanilla effect-cleansing behavior.
- If you play on a server, the config must be changed on the server side for it to take effect for all players.
- Keep a backup of the config before editing in case you want to revert.
