Now Playing Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I turn on track notifications?
Open your mod settings (usually accessible via the mod menu or config folder) and enable notifications. By default, they should display as pop-ups above your hotbar when a new music track starts playing.
Can I make it only show track names when I press a key?
Yes, go to your mod settings and change the notification mode to keybind-only, then bind a key in your controls menu. Now the track info will only appear when you press that key.
Where can I change if notifications show above the hotbar or top-right?
In the mod settings, look for the notification position or display location option and choose between hotbar messages or top-right corner (toast notifications).
Does this mod work with music discs?
Yes, the mod displays track information for both ambient music tracks and music discs played from jukeboxes.
Can the narrator read out which song is playing?
If you have Minecraft's narrator enabled in accessibility settings, you can toggle narrator support in the mod settings to have track information read aloud.
How do I use the /nowplaying command?
Type `/nowplaying` in chat to manually display information about the currently playing track, even if automatic notifications are disabled.
Can I hide the 'Now Playing' label and just see the track name?
Yes, in the mod settings you can toggle off the 'Now Playing' label so only the track name appears in the notification.
What if notifications aren't showing above my hotbar?
The mod will automatically fall back to toast notifications (top-right corner) if hotbar messages aren't possible in your setup. You can also manually switch to toast mode in settings.
Does this mod affect performance or FPS?
The mod is lightweight and only displays brief pop-up notifications, so it should have negligible impact on performance.
Can I completely disable notifications but still use the command?
Yes, set the notification mode to 'disabled' in settings—automatic pop-ups will stop appearing, but you can still use the `/nowplaying` command to check the current track.
