Nova’s Vibrant Lite Shaders FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I turn on the shader after installing it?
Launch Minecraft with Iris installed, go to Options > Video Settings > Shaders, then locate and select Nova's Vibrant Lite from the shader list. The shader activates immediately when you click it.
Why do my shadows look weird or not move?
Check that shadow settings in your Video Options are not set to Off or Minimum. Moving shadows require at least Low shadow distance enabled; increase the shadow distance slider for more visible shadow movement.
Can I use this shader with other mods like OptiFine?
Nova's Vibrant Lite is designed for Iris, not OptiFine. Using both at the same time can cause conflicts; disable OptiFine shaders if you have Iris running this shader.
The water looks too reflective or not reflective enough—how do I fix it?
Open the shader options menu (usually by pressing a hotkey in-game or through Video Settings) and look for water reflection or water quality settings to adjust the intensity to your preference.
My game is lagging even though this is supposed to be lite—what should I do?
Lower your render distance, disable or reduce shadow distance, and check that your graphics driver is up to date. If you're on very old hardware, try reducing other video settings like clouds or particles.
Does this shader work in the Nether or End?
Yes, the shader applies to all dimensions, though moving shadows and water reflections are most noticeable in the Overworld where the sun moves.
Why does my daytime look too bright or washed out?
Adjust the brightness and saturation settings in the shader options menu to find a balance that works for your monitor and preference.
Can I take screenshots that show off the moving shadows?
Yes—take screenshots during daytime when the sun is visible, and the shader's shadow effects will be captured. Use F2 to screenshot in-game.
Does this shader affect my FPS much on a weak computer?
Nova's Vibrant Lite is optimized for low-end systems and should have minimal impact, but your exact FPS depends on your hardware, render distance, and other video settings.
How do I uninstall or switch to a different shader?
Go to Options > Video Settings > Shaders and select (None) or choose a different shader from the list; the change takes effect immediately.
