Optimize Shader Performance for Your Graphics Card

Selecting Your Performance Tier

Access the main shader settings and look for a Performance or Quality preset section. Nova Reimagined Shaders offers configurations for low, medium, and high-end graphics cards. Choose the tier matching your hardware to balance visual quality with smooth gameplay.

Fine-Tuning Individual Features

If you're on a lower-end system but want better visuals, selectively disable expensive features. PBR material rendering, advanced water reflections, and foliage wind animation are typically the most demanding. You can often disable these individually while keeping cel-shading and surface snow active for a good visual-to-performance ratio.

Testing and Monitoring

After adjusting settings, load a world and monitor your frame rate. Look for stuttering or lag, especially when moving quickly or in dense foliage areas. If performance drops below your target, lower shadow distance or reduce the cel-shading resolution. Conversely, if you're getting high frame rates, gradually increase quality settings until you find your sweet spot between visuals and performance.
