Enable and Configure Surface Snow for Natural Coverage

Activating Surface Snow

In your shader settings, locate the Surface Snow option under the Weather or Effects section. Toggle it on to enable the custom snow layer system. Unlike vanilla snow, this shader-based system creates a more natural, continuous coverage across blocks without requiring individual snow blocks.

Adjusting Snow Appearance

Once enabled, you'll find sliders for snow density and thickness. Increase density to make snow accumulate on more surfaces and in more visible amounts. Adjust thickness to control how deep the snow layer appears on top of blocks. You can also modify the snow color to match different lighting conditions—colder times of day may benefit from slightly blue-tinted snow.

Viewing Results

The surface snow system works best in snowy biomes and during winter-themed gameplay. Visit a snow biome or create a custom world with snow to see the full effect. The snow will naturally follow your terrain's contours and respond to the shader's dynamic lighting, creating realistic shadows and highlights across the white surface.
