Adjust Cel-Shading Intensity for Your Preferred Art Style
Finding the Cel-Shading Settings
Open your shader options menu (usually accessed via the Shader Settings button in Video Settings). Look for the Cel-Shading or Cartoon Lighting section. This mod provides sliders to control how pronounced the cartoon outline effect appears on blocks and mobs.
Customizing the Look
Increase the outline thickness if you want a stronger comic-book appearance with bold black lines around objects. Reduce it for a softer, more watercolor-like fantasy style. You can also adjust the shading bands—more bands create smoother gradients, while fewer bands give a more dramatic, flat-color comic effect.
Experiment with the settings in different biomes and times of day. The cel-shading effect interacts with the dynamic lighting system, so what looks good at noon may need tweaking at sunset. Save your preferred configuration so you don't lose it when restarting.
Testing Your Changes
Stand near varied terrain—grass, stone, water, and trees—to see how your settings affect different materials. The effect is most visible on large flat surfaces and during midday when lighting is strong.
