How to Fix Bow Aiming So Your Off-Hand Item Stops Blocking Your View
The Problem
In vanilla, when you aim a bow or crossbow with an item in your off-hand (like a shield, torch, or map), that off-hand item can poke into your face and block your view. Not Enough Animations hides the off-hand item while you are actively aiming, so you can actually see where you are shooting.
Steps to Use It
1. Put a bow or crossbow in your main hand.
2. Put whatever you want in your off-hand (shield, torch, food, etc.).
3. Hold the use button to draw the bow or raise the crossbow.
4. While aiming, the off-hand item disappears from view. Release the button to fire, and the item reappears.
Why This Matters
- You keep the utility of an off-hand item without losing visibility while aiming.
- This is especially useful in combat when you carry a shield in the off-hand and switch to a bow.
- No keybind or toggle is needed; the hiding happens automatically the moment you enter the aiming pose.
If It Does Not Work
Make sure the mod is enabled and that no other mod is forcing off-hand rendering during aim. Test with a plain bow and a torch first to confirm the behavior.
