Mining and Exploring Mineshafts with Proper Terrain Alignment
Understanding New Mineshaft Placement
No Void Structures Mod adjusts how Mineshafts generate so they align with surface terrain instead of creating disconnected shafts floating in the void. This makes mineshaft exploration more coherent and less glitchy.
What Changes When Mining
Mineshafts now follow the natural contours of your world. You won't encounter mineshaft sections that abruptly end in void or float unsupported in deep caves. The wooden supports and tunnels integrate logically with the surrounding terrain and cave systems.
When you find a mineshaft, follow it naturally—it will connect properly to the landscape around it. You won't need to build bridges across void gaps or deal with floating wooden beams.
Mining Strategy
Explore mineshafts as you normally would, but expect them to feel more integrated with cave systems. They may connect to natural caves more frequently since they're aligned with terrain. This can actually make mining more interesting, as you'll discover more varied underground features.
The mod prevents mineshafts from generating below Y level -56, so extremely deep mining won't encounter them in the deepest layers.
