Understand When to Upgrade vs. Craft New Tools

Upgrading Existing Tools

Upgrade your current diamond tools when they have valuable enchantments you want to keep, or when you've invested significant effort into them. The mod makes this process simple: one netherite ingot transforms any enchanted diamond tool into its netherite equivalent instantly.

Crafting New Netherite Tools

If you're starting fresh without enchanted diamond tools, you can still craft netherite tools directly using standard Minecraft recipes. However, upgrading is generally more efficient since you only need one netherite ingot per tool rather than gathering multiple ingots for crafting.

Cost Comparison

Without this mod, upgrading requires finding a netherite upgrade template (rare) and seven diamonds to duplicate it. With this mod, you skip the template hunt entirely and go straight to combining your tool with one ingot. This makes netherite tools accessible much earlier in your playthrough.

Strategy

Focus on upgrading your most-used tools first: your main pickaxe for mining, your sword for combat, and your axe for wood gathering. These see the most use and benefit most from netherite's durability.
