Understand What Changed From Vanilla
Removed Requirement
In vanilla Minecraft, upgrading diamond armor requires three items in the smithing table: the diamond piece, a netherite ingot, and a Netherite Upgrade template. This mod removes the template requirement entirely.
What You No Longer Need
- Netherite Upgrade templates
- Template duplication recipes
- Loot chest exploration for templates
- Crafting materials to duplicate templates
What Stays the Same
- You still need a smithing table
- You still need one netherite ingot per armor piece
- The upgraded armor has identical stats and durability to vanilla netherite armor
- All enchantments transfer normally during the upgrade
Impact on Gameplay
This mod significantly reduces the time investment needed to obtain a full netherite armor set in survival mode. The main bottleneck becomes acquiring netherite ingots rather than finding templates, which aligns better with the natural progression of mining and smelting ancient debris.
