Understanding What Data the Mod Blocks and What It Does Not
Knowing the exact scope helps you decide whether the mod is enough for your privacy needs.
What Gets Blocked
When you load a singleplayer world or connect to a multiplayer server, vanilla would send a telemetry payload containing a launcher identifier, your XUID (your Xbox user id, which is tied to your account), a client session id, and related client information. The mod prevents that payload from being sent. Because the XUID is included in plain text in vanilla, blocking it is the main privacy win.
What Is Not Blocked
Normal authentication still happens — Mojang's servers verify your session so you can play online. Server-side plugins, chat logs, and any analytics a server operator runs are outside this mod's scope. The launcher itself may also make its own connections unrelated to in-game telemetry.
Practical Takeaway
If your goal is to stop the in-game telemetry event from carrying your XUID to Mojang, this mod covers that. If your goal is broader anonymity online, you will also need to consider your username, server choice, and any other mods that phone home. Treat this mod as one layer, not the whole solution.
