Change the Nametag Toggle Keybind

Accessing Keybind Settings

By default, F6 toggles nametag visibility, but you can rebind this to any key you prefer.

To change the keybind:

1. Open the Options menu in Minecraft

2. Select Controls (or Key Binds depending on your version)

3. Scroll down to find the No Render Name Tags section or search for "nametag"

4. Click on the keybind entry (it will show the current key, such as F6)

5. Press the key you want to use as the new toggle

6. The change saves automatically

Choosing a New Key

Pick a key that doesn't conflict with other mods or vanilla Minecraft binds. Function keys (F1–F12) are often safe choices, as are less common keys like Pause or Scroll Lock. Avoid keys used for movement, attacking, or other frequent actions to prevent accidental toggles during gameplay.
