Do I need to enable this data pack or does it work automatically?
You need to enable the data pack in your world settings before it takes effect. Once enabled, all ore mining will immediately start dropping refined ore instead of raw ore.
Will this work with my existing world or do I need a new one?
The data pack works with both new and existing worlds—just enable it in the data pack menu and the changes apply right away.
What ores are affected by this data pack?
All standard ores that normally drop raw ore variants are affected, including copper, iron, gold, and others. The exceptions are Nether Gold Ore and Gilded Blackstone, which continue to drop their raw variants for consistency with vanilla behavior.
Why do Nether Gold Ore and Gilded Blackstone still drop raw ore?
These blocks are excluded to maintain consistency with standard Minecraft behavior, where they naturally drop raw ore variants rather than refined materials.
Do I still need a furnace or smelter to process ore?
No—since you get refined ore directly from mining, you skip the smelting step entirely. You can use your ore immediately for crafting or further processing.
Does this affect ore drops from Fortune enchantment?
Fortune will still increase the number of ore drops you receive, but you'll get more of the refined ore instead of more raw ore.
Will this data pack conflict with other data packs or mods?
Data packs generally have low conflict risk, but if you have other packs that modify ore drops, load order and overlapping changes could cause issues—test them together first.
Can I disable this data pack without losing my world?
Yes, you can disable it anytime through your world's data pack settings, and your world will revert to vanilla ore behavior without any damage.
Does this affect deepslate ore or only surface ore?
The data pack affects all ore variants equally, including deepslate ores, so you'll get direct drops from both surface and deep mining.
Will my mining farm still work efficiently with this data pack?
Yes—your farm will work the same way, just with the benefit of skipping the raw ore step, making your ore collection even more efficient.
