Understanding Signing Modes

The mod offers 4 configurable signing modes that control how your chat messages are handled by the server. Each mode provides different levels of privacy protection while maintaining compatibility with servers that require signed chat.

How to Change Your Signing Mode

1. Open your mod configuration menu (typically accessed via the mods screen or a dedicated config key)

2. Locate the No Prying Eyes settings

3. Find the Chat Signing Mode option

4. Select from the available modes:

• Always Sign: Messages are signed normally (default server behavior)
• Never Sign: Messages bypass signing entirely where possible
• On-Demand: You choose per-message whether to sign or not
• Fake Sign: Messages appear signed but use spoofed signatures

5. Apply your changes and rejoin the server

Important Notes

Some servers may reject unsigned messages or kick players using certain modes. Test your chosen mode on the server before relying on it. On-Demand mode requires you to actively decide for each message, so it's more involved but gives maximum control. Your selection persists across sessions until changed.
