Understanding Where Meteors Spawn With This Mod

Meteor Spawn Behavior

No More Craters changes how meteors integrate into your world. Understanding the new spawn mechanics helps you predict where to search.

Spawn Locations

Primary spawn zones:

  • Meteors generate just below the surface layer of terrain
  • Underwater spawns occur in shallow to moderate depths
  • Spawn attempts happen across your world like normal, but the impact is contained

What changed:

  • No massive crater formations or terrain destruction
  • The ground around meteors remains largely intact
  • Nearby structures, villages, and player builds stay protected
  • Meteor blocks themselves are still mineable and drop their usual materials

Finding Patterns

Meteors spawn randomly across loaded chunks, so there's no guaranteed location. However, they're always shallow—never deep underground. This makes them accessible early in your AE2 journey without requiring extensive mining.

The mod handles all spawn logic automatically once installed. No configuration is needed; meteors will spawn naturally using the new safe burial system. Simply explore your world normally, and you'll eventually encounter buried meteors ready for harvesting.
