Set Up a Permanent Axolotl Base

Choose Your Location

Select a spot in your base where you want axolotls to live permanently. This can be an aquarium, a water tank, or a dedicated underground pool. Since axolotls no longer despawn with this mod, they'll stay in place indefinitely—even if you travel far away or log out.

Create a Suitable Habitat

Axolotls need water to survive. Build or fill a container with water blocks. They can exist in both small tanks and large pools; the size doesn't affect their permanence. Add decorative elements like plants, sand, or stone to make the space visually appealing.

Bring Axolotls Home

Find axolotls in deep dark caves or lush caves in your world. Use a water bucket to capture them, then transport them to your base. Place them in your prepared habitat by emptying the bucket.

Maintain Your Companions

Keep the water clean and ensure they have space to swim. Since they won't despawn, you can leave them unattended without worry. They'll remain your permanent pets, ready to accompany you on future underwater expeditions or simply brighten your base with their presence.
