Troubleshooting Campfires That Aren't Stopping Mob Spawns
Check the Basics First
Confirm the campfire is actually placed and lit. An unlit campfire or one that was extinguished by rain or water won't count. Also verify you're within the configured radius — if you set a small value, mobs can still spawn just outside it and wander in. Stand at the edge of your base and look for spawns to see where the boundary lies.
Verify the Config Loaded
If nothing changes after editing the config, the file may not have reloaded. Restart the game or server fully rather than just returning to the menu. Check that you edited the correct file for your mod loader and that there are no syntax errors like missing quotes or stray commas, which can cause the mod to fall back to defaults.
Modded Mobs and Edge Cases
The mod only blocks entities classified as EntityClassification.Monster. Some modded mobs use different classifications and will still spawn. If a specific modded hostile ignores your campfire, that's likely why. Also remember the mod prevents new spawns but doesn't despawn existing mobs, so clear the area manually. Finally, if another mod overrides spawn rules, it may conflict — test with only this mod enabled to isolate the cause.
