How to Configure the Campfire Protection Radius

Finding the Config File

After installing the mod, launch the game once so it generates its config file. You'll find it in your instance's config folder, usually named something like nohostilesaroundcampfire-common.toml or similar. Open it with any plain text editor.

Adjusting the Radius

Look for an entry that controls the radius (often called radius or campfireRadius). The value is measured in blocks and defines the spherical or cubic area around each campfire where hostile spawns are blocked. Increase it to protect a larger base, or decrease it for tighter control. Save the file and restart the game or reload the config for changes to take effect.

Testing Your Setup

Place a campfire in a dark area at night and watch whether zombies, skeletons, or creepers appear nearby. If they still spawn, double-check that you edited the correct config file and that the value saved properly. Remember the mod also blocks any modded entity classified as EntityClassification.Monster, so modded mobs should be suppressed too. If you run a server, the config must be set on the server side, not just the client.
