Making the Nether and End Easier to Navigate With No Fog
Nether Navigation
Fog in the Nether is thick and red, hiding terrain and making it easy to walk into lava or off a ledge. With No Fog, the Nether opens up dramatically. Use this to:
- Spot fortress and bastion outlines from a distance before committing to a direction.
- See lava lakes and cliffs ahead so you can bridge or route around them.
- Identify biome boundaries (soul sand valley, crimson forest, warped forest) by their distinct colors.
Build a small pillar or use a high ledge to survey the area, then mark your route with torches or blocks so you can retrace it.
End Navigation
In the End, fog normally obscures the void and distant islands. Without it, you can:
- Spot End city towers and End ship silhouettes across the gap.
- Judge the distance to the next island before throwing an ender pearl or building a bridge.
- Avoid accidentally stepping into the void because you can see the edge clearly.
Safety Reminder
Clearer vision does not make the Nether or End safe. Lava, void, and mobs are still lethal. Use the improved visibility to plan routes carefully rather than rushing, and always carry blocks for bridging and a way to get back.
