How to Enable Combining Higher-Level Enchantments Past the Vanilla Cap

What "combineHigher" controls

Normally, combining two of the same enchantment caps the result at the vanilla maximum level (for example, two Sharpness books will not exceed the normal ceiling). No Expensive Mod has a toggle that lets you push past that ceiling when combining higher-level enchantments.

Turning it on

1. Check the current setting with /noexpensive combineHigher.

2. Enable it with /noexpensive combineHigher true.

3. Open the anvil and place the two items or books you want to merge.

4. The output should now allow a level above the vanilla maximum for that enchantment.

5. Take the result and confirm the higher level appears on the tooltip.

Turning it off

Run /noexpensive combineHigher false to restore vanilla behavior. This is useful if you want the mod only for removing the Too Expensive limit but not for exceeding enchantment caps.

Cost warning

Higher-level results cost more XP. If the anvil refuses the operation, raise the repair cost ceiling with /noexpensive maxLevel <level> or set it to 0 for automatic calculation.
