How to Configure the Maximum Repair Cost and Compatibility Rules
Reading and setting the max level
The mod uses a maximum repair cost value that decides when an anvil operation is allowed. The default is 39, and setting it to 0 switches to automatic calculation.
1. Run /noexpensive maxLevel to see the current value.
2. Run /noexpensive maxLevel <level> to set a new ceiling. A higher number allows more expensive operations.
3. Set it to 0 if you want the mod to decide the limit on its own.
Managing enchantment compatibility
If two enchantments still refuse to merge, you can define a compatibility rule manually.
1. Identify the two enchantment IDs you want to allow together.
2. Run /noexpensive compatibility PUT <enchantment> <enchantment> with those IDs.
3. Retry the anvil operation; the pair should now merge.
Practical tips
- Raise
maxLevelbefore enablingcombineHigher, since higher-level merges cost more. - Keep a large XP reserve; the mod removes the block, not the cost.
- Use
/noexpensive combineHigherto confirm whether past-cap merging is active before troubleshooting an anvil.
