How to Fix the Glint Still Showing After Installing

Common Causes

If enchanted items still shimmer after you enable the pack, the glint texture is being supplied by something else. The most frequent culprit is load order: another resource pack that also contains the glint file is sitting above this one and winning.

Troubleshooting Steps

1. Open Options, then Resource Packs, and check the Selected list.

2. Move the No Enchant Glint pack to the very top of the Selected list.

3. Click Done to reload, then check an enchanted item.

4. If it still glints, temporarily disable all other packs and test this one alone. If the glint disappears, re-enable the others one at a time to find the conflict.

5. Confirm the pack is actually enabled and not just present in the folder — a pack that failed to load will not appear in the Selected list.

6. If you use a mod loader with its own resource handling, make sure the pack is enabled there too.

When It Is Not the Pack

Some client-side mods draw their own enchantment highlight that is unrelated to the vanilla glint texture. If disabling every other resource pack does not remove the shimmer, the effect is coming from a mod's rendering, not from a texture, and this pack cannot override it. In that case, look for a setting in that mod to turn its highlight off.
