No Enchant Glint Resource Pack FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

What does the No Enchant Glint Resource Pack actually change?
It removes the animated purple shimmer overlay that normally appears on enchanted items. Nothing else about the game changes — enchantments still work exactly the same, only the visual glint is hidden.
Do I need to enable the pack in the right order if I use other resource packs?
Yes. Resource packs lower in the list override ones above them, so place No Enchant Glint above any pack whose item textures you want to keep, but below packs that should win on conflicts. If the glint reappears, another pack is likely overriding it.
Does this pack work in singleplayer and on servers?
It works anywhere, because it only changes your own client-side textures. Servers don't need to install anything, and other players will still see the glint on their own screens.
Will removing the glint break my enchantments or anvil usage?
No. The pack is purely cosmetic and doesn't touch game logic, so enchanting, anvils, grindstones and villager trades all behave normally. Your items keep their enchantments and their effects.
How do I tell which of my items are enchanted without the glint?
Hover over an item to read its tooltip, which still lists every enchantment. You can also check the item's name color in some interfaces, or rely on your own naming conventions in anvils.
Can I keep the glint on just a few items instead of removing it everywhere?
Not with this pack alone, since it strips the glint from all enchanted items at once. To keep it on select items you'd need a different pack or a custom edit that only overrides those specific item textures.
The glint is still showing after I installed the pack — what's wrong?
Check that the pack is actually enabled and positioned correctly in your resource pack list, since another pack may be overriding it. Also make sure you're looking at an enchanted item and not a glint-like effect from a mod or shader.
Does this pack affect performance or FPS?
It has essentially no performance impact, as it only replaces a small animated texture. If anything, removing the glint animation can slightly reduce texture work on enchanted items.
Is it compatible with shaders and other resource packs?
It generally works alongside shaders and most resource packs, since it only changes the enchantment glint texture. Conflicts can occur if another pack also edits that same texture, in which case load order decides the winner.
Does the pack change the glint on enchanted books, armor or tools too?
Yes, it removes the glint from every enchanted item, including books, armor, tools, weapons and any modded items that use the vanilla glint. There's no per-category toggle within the pack itself.
