No Baby Zombies Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I know if the No Baby Zombies Mod is actually working?
Find a zombie spawner or wait for night and watch the zombies that appear — if none of them are the small, faster baby variant, the mod is active. You can also try a zombie spawn egg; with the mod installed it should only ever produce the full-size zombie.
Does this mod remove baby zombies that already exist in my world?
No, it only stops new ones from spawning. Existing baby zombies and baby husks stay in the world until killed, so you'll need to clear them out yourself.
Why are baby zombies still spawning with the mod installed?
Usually another mod or a datapack is spawning them directly, or the mod isn't loaded on the server side. Check that it's installed on both client and server and look for mob-adding mods that might bypass the normal spawn rules.
Do baby husks get removed too or just baby zombies?
Both are covered. The mod removes baby zombies and baby husks, so neither will spawn naturally or from spawn eggs.
Will this break my zombie xp farm?
No, it should make it more consistent. Regular zombies still spawn and drop XP and loot normally, you just won't get the fast baby ones clogging up the farm or escaping.
Does the mod work on a server?
Yes, but it needs to be installed on the server for spawning to be blocked. If only the client has it, the server will still spawn baby zombies and they'll appear to you.
Can I still get baby zombies with a spawn egg for a mob zoo?
No. With the mod installed, zombie and husk spawn eggs only produce the adult versions, so you can't get a baby that way.
Is this mod compatible with other mob mods?
It generally works alongside most mob mods, but mods that add their own baby zombie variants or override vanilla spawning may still produce them. Test in a copy of your world if you're unsure.
Will removing baby zombies affect my mob switch or mob cap?
It can slightly change mob counts since baby zombies no longer take up spawn slots, but the overall mob cap behavior stays the same. Your farms should still work as before.
Does this mod hurt performance or cause lag?
No, it's a lightweight change that only affects zombie spawning, so it won't add noticeable lag. If anything, fewer baby zombies means slightly less entity load.
