How to Make Stars Twinkle and Show Colored Stars
What the Star Rendering Does
Nicer Skies replaces vanilla's flat white dots with stars that twinkle and appear in slightly different colors. This happens automatically once the mod is installed — there is no item or block to craft.
Getting the Best Star View
1. Stars only render in the night sky, so daytime will show nothing.
2. Move away from light sources. Torches, lava, and lit builds wash out the sky. Head to an open area or a high vantage point.
3. Look straight up rather than at the horizon — the densest star field is overhead.
4. Disable or reduce vanilla clouds if they block your view, since clouds can obscure the twinkle effect.
Why Stars Might Look Static
- If stars appear as plain white dots, check that no other sky or shader mod is overriding the skybox. Conflicting sky mods can suppress Nicer Skies' rendering.
- Resource packs that replace the sky texture may also interfere. Try disabling them temporarily to confirm.
- The twinkle and color variation are subtle by design, so watch for a few seconds rather than a single glance — the effect animates over time.
