How to Fix Nicer Skies Not Showing Up

First Checks

If your sky still looks like vanilla, the mod likely isn't loading or something is overriding it.

1. Confirm the mod is actually loaded. Check your mod list in-game — if Nicer Skies isn't listed, it isn't running.

2. Verify you're on a compatible mod loader and game version. A mismatched loader means the mod silently does nothing.

3. Make sure you're looking at night. Nebulas and stars only appear in the night sky; daytime shows the normal blue.

Conflicts to Rule Out

  • Other sky mods: Two mods that both replace the skybox will fight. Disable the other one and test.
  • Shaders: Shader packs often replace the sky entirely. Turn shaders off to confirm Nicer Skies is working, then decide which you prefer.
  • Resource packs: Packs that change sky textures can hide the mod's rendering. Disable them temporarily.

Still Not Working

  • Check the config to ensure the sky features aren't disabled.
  • Try a fresh world — if the sky appears there, the issue is world-specific settings or another mod in your main world.
  • Read your game log for errors mentioning the mod; that usually points to the real cause.
