How to View Your Screenshots Without Leaving Minecraft

Opening the In-Game Viewer

Nicephore adds a way to browse screenshots from inside Minecraft, so you do not have to alt-tab to a file explorer. After taking a screenshot, the quickest route is the View JPEG or View PNG button that appears in chat — clicking either opens that image in an in-game overlay.

Using the HUD and Options Menu

The mod also exposes screenshots through a HUD element and an options menu entry. Open your mod options (typically through the mod list or the Nicephore config screen) and look for the screenshot viewer section. From there you can pull up the last captured image without touching the chat buttons. The HUD option lets you keep quick access visible while playing, which is handy if you take many screenshots in a session.

Practical Tips

  • The viewer shows the image at full resolution; scroll or resize if your GUI scale makes it too large.
  • If a screenshot looks blurry in the viewer, you are probably looking at the JPEG — switch to the PNG button for the sharp original.
  • Closing the viewer returns you to the game without pausing in singleplayer and without disconnecting in multiplayer.

This is the main reason to use Nicephore over vanilla: you can check, confirm, and share a screenshot entirely in-game.
