Troubleshoot Unexpected Portal Destinations

Verify Your Current Location

If you entered a portal and arrived somewhere unexpected, first confirm which dimension you're in. Use /portal to see what coordinates the mod calculates for your current position.

Check for Portal Misalignment

The coordinates shown should match where you intended to be. If they don't, your portal may have been built at the wrong location. Return to the Overworld and check your original portal's coordinates with /portal.

Recalculate and Rebuild

If the coordinates are wrong, move your Overworld portal to a different location and run /portal again. The mod will show you the new destination. Build your Nether portal at the corrected coordinates.

Account for Dimension Scaling

Remember that Nether coordinates relate to Overworld coordinates through the mod's calculation system. If your portal seems off, use /portal [x] [y] [z] with your intended Nether location to get the precise Overworld coordinates you need.

Verify Before Committing

Always test a new portal connection by stepping through and checking /portal on the other side before building permanent structures nearby.
