Nether Coords Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I use the /portal command?
Stand inside a Nether portal and type /portal to see the coordinates where you'll spawn when you enter it. You can also type /portal [x] [y] [z] to check coordinates for a portal at any block position without standing in it.
Why does my portal send me to unexpected coordinates?
Nether portals link based on coordinate scaling (Overworld coordinates ÷ 8 = Nether coordinates). Use /portal to verify your destination before entering, and check that no other portals exist at the calculated coordinates that might interfere.
Can I see which dimension a portal leads to?
Yes, the mod displays a clear distinction between Overworld and Nether dimensions when you use /portal, so you'll know exactly which dimension your portal connects to.
How do I set up linked portals between Overworld and Nether?
Build a portal in the Overworld, use /portal to get its destination coordinates, then build a matching portal in the Nether at those coordinates. The two portals will now link together.
Does this mod work on multiplayer servers?
Yes, Nether Coords Mod is fully compatible with multiplayer and has no impact on server performance.
What if I want to check portal coordinates without entering it?
Use /portal [x] [y] [z] with the block coordinates of the portal you want to check, and the mod will show you the destination without requiring you to stand inside it.
Can I customize how the coordinates are displayed?
Yes, the mod includes customization options to tailor your coordinate display to your preference.
What happens if I build a portal at the wrong coordinates?
You'll spawn at an unexpected location when you enter it. Use /portal before building to verify the exact coordinates you need, or use /portal [x] [y] [z] to check an existing portal's destination.
Is there a help command?
Yes, type /portal help to view the mod's built-in help documentation.
Do I need to do anything special to install this mod?
Once the mod is installed, the /portal command is immediately available—just stand in a portal and type /portal to start using it.
