Find Your Nether Portal Destination Before Building
Check Your Current Portal Location
Stand inside your Overworld Nether portal frame and run /portal. The mod will display the exact coordinates where you'll spawn when you enter the Nether. This prevents the surprise of arriving in an unexpected location.
Plan Your Nether Portal Placement
Once you have the destination coordinates, you can decide whether that location works for your base. If the coordinates point to an unsafe area—like inside lava, high in the air, or in hostile terrain—you have two options:
1. Move your Overworld portal to a different location and check again with /portal
2. Build your Nether portal at the calculated destination first, so you have a safe landing spot
This workflow saves time and resources by eliminating trial-and-error portal placement. You'll know exactly where you're going before stepping through.
Verify Before Committing
If you're unsure about the destination, use the coordinates to scout the Nether first through other means, or build a temporary portal at the calculated spot to confirm it's suitable for your needs.
