Sharing NBT Data With Other Players or in Bug Reports

Getting the Data Out of the Game

When you need to show someone else an entity's NBT — for a bug report, a forum post, or helping a friend debug a datapack — the chat box is a dead end because its text cannot be selected. The mod's COPY button is the bridge: run your /cgetdata or /data get command, then click COPY at the end of the output.

Pasting It Somewhere Useful

With the data on your clipboard, paste it into wherever the other person will read it:

  • A Discord message or forum post, wrapped in a code block so formatting is preserved.
  • A shared document or pastebin-style service for very long tag trees.
  • A chat message in-game if the data is short enough to fit.

What to Include Alongside the Data

Raw NBT is only half the story. Mention which entity or block it came from, what command you ran, and what you expected versus what you saw. If you edited the data before sharing, say so — otherwise the person helping you may chase a tag value that was never in the original output. Copying directly from the button guarantees you are sharing exactly what the game printed, with no transcription mistakes.
