How to Copy Entity NBT Data to Your Clipboard

Running the Command First

Before you can copy anything, you need NBT data to appear in your chat. In a single-player world, use /cgetdata targeting the entity you want to inspect (for example, /cgetdata entity @e[type=minecraft:zombie,limit=1]). On a server where you have operator permissions, use the vanilla /data get command instead. Either command prints the entity's non-binary NBT tags into the message box as a long block of text.

Using the COPY Button

Once the output appears, look at the very end of that command's output line. The mod appends a clickable COPY button as text right after the printed data. Click it, and the entire NBT string is placed on your system clipboard — no manual selecting or dragging required. You can then paste it into a text editor, a config file, or a chat message to share with others.

Practical Tips

  • Each command output gets its own COPY button, so you can run several /cgetdata commands and copy them one at a time without losing earlier results.
  • The copied text preserves the exact formatting of the printed data, which matters when you plan to paste it back into a command or datapack.
  • If the button does not appear, confirm the command actually produced output — an error message will not have a COPY button attached.
