Set Up Automatic Charcoal Production
Create a Self-Sustaining Burn Farm
Automate charcoal production by combining log supplies with controlled fire spread.
1. Build a large, enclosed chamber with non-flammable walls
2. Use dispensers or other mechanisms to feed logs into the burn zone
3. Maintain a persistent fire source (lava, fire blocks, or repeated ignition)
4. Position hoppers and chests to catch charcoal drops
5. Route charcoal into storage using item pipes or manual collection
Efficiency Tips
Space logs so fire spreads naturally between them rather than burning in isolation. The mod's drop chance means you won't recover 100% of your input, so factor in losses when calculating production rates. Use water channels to prevent fire from spreading beyond your intended burn zone, protecting surrounding terrain and structures.
This setup works best with a reliable log supply from tree farms, allowing continuous charcoal generation with minimal player intervention.
